We're Hiring!
At J-BIT Tech, we believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to grow.
About the Company
J-BIT Tech started as a break/fix repair shop in 2014, and has grown to include full MSP service to business clients, as well as two additional brands, First Click Digital Marketing & 505 Songworks. As such, there's always something new to learn in the company as it continues to evolve.
Level 1 - 2 Technician
For Residential Computer Repair Shop & MSP

Are you the kind of IT person who enjoys helping people just as much as fixing their computers? You like figuring out what's wrong, getting to the solution without wasting time, and explaining it in a way that actually makes sense, no jargon, no talking down to anyone.
Most of your time here will be spent hands-on in our Albuquerque shop, diagnosing and repairing computers. A lot of that work repeats: hardware swaps, virus removal, data transfers. You'll also go onsite for installs and repairs, and pick up business help desk tickets when time allows.
You don't need to know everything on day one. We'll keep building your technical skills. What matters most is that you show up with some hands-on repair experience, strong people skills, and the kind of attitude that makes clients and teammates want to work with you.
What We're Looking For
You're a natural troubleshooter: You narrow down a problem without wasting time going down the wrong path, and you know when to research instead of guess.
You take ownership of your work: You keep repairs moving, follow through to resolution, and document clearly so nothing falls through the cracks.
You're comfortable with people: You explain technical issues without jargon and keep clients informed, so they feel helped, not talked down to.
You can prioritize under pressure: When several jobs need attention at once, you know what to tackle first and keep things moving.
What You'll Do
In the shop (most of your time):
-
Answer calls and intake tickets.
-
Diagnose and repair hardware issues on client machines
-
Remove viruses and malware, and clean up infected systems
-
Refurbish and prep systems for resale or reuse
-
Set up and configure new equipment
-
Document your work clearly and consistently with our RMM and Ticketing tools.
-
On average, you'll complete a baseline of 3 tickets per day.
Onsite:
-
Install and configure printers and other equipment at client locations
-
Set up workstations onsite
-
Troubleshoot hardware and network issues in the field
When there’s time:
-
Answer help desk calls and provide remote support for MSP clients
-
Triage small business client issues and escalate when needed

Must-Haves
-
Some hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing computers. You don't need to know everything, but you should have enough of a repair foundation to hit the ground running.
-
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through a problem efficiently rather than guessing.
-
Clear, professional communication, including the ability to educate our clients without talking down to them or relying on jargon.
-
Comfort talking with clients and keeping them informed throughout the repair process.
-
A willingness to learn. We're happy to keep building your technical skills and train you on how we do things at J-BIT.
-
This role involves regular lifting of up to 50 lbs (computer towers, monitors, equipment), extended periods on your feet moving around the shop, and extended screen time while troubleshooting.

What Gets Us Excited
-
CompTIA A+ or a similar certification.
-
Experience with a ticketing or remote support tool (Syncro, Datto, or similar).
-
Basic networking experience: routers, printers, Wi-Fi setups.
-
Previous experience in a repair shop or MSP environment.
Our Values
At J-BIT Tech, how we work matters just as much as the work itself. Our values guide how we show up for our clients and for one another:

Own It: We serve others through empathy, respect, and thoughtful communication because great service begins with humanity.
Lead With Care: We do what we say we'll do, and we take responsibility for our actions, outcomes, and impact.
Stay True: We show up honest, professional, and kind. We value authenticity over appearances and connection over perfection.
Stay Inventive: We're flexible and creative in our thinking, and we aren't afraid to try something new.
Grow Together: We collaborate with intention, celebrate progress, and turn mistakes into opportunities to learn.

Our Co-Working Agreements
Beyond our values, we hold each other to a set of everyday agreements, our own take on how we choose to show up for one another:

-
I am true to my word.
-
I take nothing personally, and I extend others the same trust.
-
I ask instead of assume.
-
I communicate with kindness and respect.
-
I always do my best, and project that others are doing the same.
If that sounds like the way you already prefer to work, you'll probably feel right at home here.

Why Join J-BIT Tech?
At J-BIT Tech, you're a person first. We invest in your growth, treat you with respect, and believe a good career still leaves room for a life outside of work. If you want to grow into a full MSP technician role down the line, that door is open.

Compensation and Benefits
-
$20 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.
-
Health care plan for full-time employees.
-
Retirement account with up to 3% company match (after 6 months).
-
Company-provided laptop for work use.
-
3 weeks accrued PTO per year.
-
Paid training and ongoing skill development.
-
